Would I be a stay at home mom, if I had the choice? Yes, I absolutely would! As hard as being home full time is--and I know it's really hard--there is no place I'd rather be. I like working, I really do, it's important for me and it's flat out essential for our family, but if money were no object, I would be a SAHM. I admire SAHMs a lot and I do envy them. My kids are everything to me and if staying home with them were possible, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I feel a lot of guilt sometimes, having to be away from my kids so much. It helps that they are with my mom during the day, but of course I'd like it to be me there with them. Sadly that is not possible for us. But if I hit the lottery tomorrow, you bet that's what I'd be doing! Working is good for me, and I would probably find some way to still work, but in a different way, from home or something like that.
What about you? Would you be a SAHM if you could?

I'm sure your kids know you wish you could be there with them, and that is what counts! When I worked in daycare there were two boys there nearly all day everyday and their mom didn't even work! I could tell a huge difference between their attitude about being there and the kids who knew they were only there because they had to be. You shouldn't feel guilty for doing what you need to for your family.
